Inbox categories in the web client
Inbox Tabs in the web client
You can display the emails in your inbox sorted by specific categories. You may already know this feature from Gmail. mailbox also offers five filter categories: General, Networks, and Purchases, which have fixed names, as well as Newsletters and Favorites, whose names you can freely customize.
Note: Inbox Tabs are filter categories for your inbox folder. They are different from the categories for individual emails, which you can define and assign via Gear | Categories. Inbox Tabs can be trained for incoming emails.
Enable Inbox Tabs
To activate the so-called “Inbox Tabs”, open your mailbox Office and select your emails in the colored bar using the envelope icon. Then click the Gear icon (at the top right in the colored bar).
In the menu Gear | Inbox Tabs | Enable categories, you can adjust and activate the filter categories for your inbox.
From now on, when you open the inbox of your mailbox account in the web client, you will see your categories above the message list: General, Networks, Purchases, Favorites, and Newsletters.
Configure Inbox Tabs
If you only want to display certain categories or rename the Newsletters and Favorites categories, go to Gear | Inbox Tabs.
Here you can make the desired adjustments by renaming the two customizable Inbox Tabs. You can also use checkboxes to determine which categories should be displayed.
The General tab cannot be deactivated, as it contains all emails that are not sorted into any other Inbox Tab.
Train Inbox Tabs
The Networks and Purchases categories already contain predefined filters. However, these can continue to “learn”. The Newsletters and Favorites categories can also be trained individually.
To adjust these filters, simply drag an email from the General list to the desired category (drag and drop). You will then be asked whether you want all existing or future emails from this sender to be displayed in this category.

Note: Moving emails to an Inbox Tab only works for emails located in the Inbox folder. If necessary, move the emails to the Inbox first to train an Inbox Tab with that email.
