ποΈ ActiveSync does not sync past e-mails
If you connect your mobile device using ActiveSync, only current appointments and e-mails will by synchronized. This is a function of the design and concept of ActiveSync and is not related to our services. Normally, past e-mails are only synced by ActiveSync for a few days.
ποΈ ActiveSync on Android Devices

ποΈ Can I also use mailbox.org with POP3
Yes. Even if we often focus on using IMAP or IMAP servers for the sake of simplicity, you can also use the POP3 protocol to access your e-mails. The host name for this protocol is pop3.mailbox.org and it is naturally encrypted using SSL. E-mail programs should detect this as part of the automatic configuration and make the necessary settings.

ποΈ Customizing your mailbox.org spam filter settings
Important note to our business customers: these settings need to be enabled via your administrator via the setup panel first.
ποΈ Ensuring E-Mails are Sent Securely
As we explained in our article on SSL/TLS-encrypted connections, we use such connections for exchanging e-mails with other providers whenever we can. This is largely subject to the other providers also supporting SSL/TLS connections. With most providers, there is no reliable way of telling whether a connection is secured this way. With us, there is!
ποΈ Exclude individual e-mails from automatic encryption
All mailbox.org customers can enable the automatic encryption of e-mail messages on the account settings page (Select the option βInbox encryptionβ). Once a public key has been provided by the user, any incoming e-mail messages will be automatically encrypted. Users can either leave the default setting in place which encrypts all messages or specify additional rules that exclude certain messages from encryption.
ποΈ Folder permissions lost
If you try to delete a folder with subfolders from your e-mail box, you lose the access permissions of this folder. The subfolders can be found in the trash, but cannot be eliminated from there.

ποΈ Is there a limit on the amount of e-mails that I can send from my account

ποΈ mailbox.org spam filter
You are probably familiar with spam folders from working with other mail systems where you have to scan through the folder in order to find real messages that may have been lost. Sometimes providers even have a separate spam quarantine where you must log in to search for misplaced messages.
ποΈ My recipient does not use PGP
If the automatic search for valid PGP keys does not yield any positive results, a green symbol will appear next to the recipient address, indicating that this person is a new Guard user.
ποΈ My sieve mail filter does not work
If your filter rules do not work, there may be several reasons.
ποΈ No ActiveSync for Mac OS X and Windows
Data synchronization with ActiveSync only works with mobile devices such as the iPhone or iPad, Android devices, and BlackBerry. It is not officially possible to use ActiveSync to synchronize data with Windows PCs or Mac computers. ActiveSync was not developed for this purpose.
ποΈ No connection to SMTP - POP3 - IMAP-Server
A number of users have complained that they are unable to connect to our mail servers even though they have entered the correct access data and server name. This problem is almost always associated with a locally installed antivirus protection software that monitors the Internet connection and (for whatever reason) blocks the connection to our mail server.
ποΈ No synchronization of external inboxes
Note: The features mentioned in this article are available in all packages except the Light package.
ποΈ Read encrypted e-mails with Guard
The decryption of messages sent to you by others requires your private PGP key. This key is kept safe on our servers and can only be accessed with an additional password that only you, the account user, knows. We, the server operators, do not have this password and therefore no access to your private key.

You may use the mailbox.org Guard to read PGP encrypted emails in the webinterface.

ποΈ Tabs for your webmail inbox
It is possible to group e-mails in the inbox according to different categories and have them displayed together β many will know this feature from services like Gmail. mailbox.org offers five tabs for this: Whereas General, Social, and Purchases are pre-defined, Favorites and Newsletter are customisable tabs.

ποΈ The mailbox.org HKPS key server

ποΈ Tip - How can I setup an alias for iOS
If you have set up an alias with our service, you can also use this alias on your iPhone or iPad. Admittedly, we do not offer support for e-mail clients (there are simply too many and we do not develop this type of software), but this was a difficult challenge as the function was very well-hidden.

Open the context menu of that e-mail and find the menu option that says Check assigned PI_**N to display the number.
