Setup with Mail.app for iOS

Set up your new e-mail account as follows for devices with the iOS operating system (iPad, iPhone):

Open ‘Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> Add account’. The next few steps are explained in the image gallery.

You do not normally have to enter settings such as port and connection security extension yourself. The e-mail program automatically selects and implements the most secure methods (and we only support these methods). For the sake of completeness, we have listed the necessary information here.

• Name: Your name

• E-mail: Your mailbox.org e-mail address

• Password: Your mailbox.org password

• Server for incoming e-mails: imap.mailbox.org

• User name (same as login): Complete e-mail address

• Password: Your mailbox.org password

  • Port 993 with connection security extension SSL
  • Authentication method: Normal password

• Server for outgoing e-mails: smtp.mailbox.org

• Password: Your mailbox.org password

• User name (same as login): Complete e-mail address

  • Port 465 with connection security extension SSL
  • Under iOS 12.4 and higher use Port 587 with connection security extension SSL
  • Authentication method: Normal password
