Custom Domains
This section of the knowledge base provides articles about the setup and use of custom domain names with mailbox.org. All of our price plans (excluding the LIGHT Tarif) allow users to integrate e-mail addresses from other providers โ not just addresses belonging to other e-mail services but also e-mail addresses that use a custom domain name like my.address@example.com. For this to work properly, users need to adjust a few basic configuration settings in the Domain Name System (DNS), which can normally be done through interfaces of the provider with which the domain name was registered.

There are some e-mail programs that make it easy for users to add new mailboxes or e-mail addresses. These programs offer wizard tools that automatically collect the configuration data that is required for the user to be able to send and receive e-mails. Usually, the only information a user needs to enter is the e-mail address to set up, as well as a username and password. Mail clients like Thunderbird or Outlook expect this configuration file at a URL like https//autoconfig.mailbox.org/mail/config-v1.1.xml.
