Tip - How can I setup an alias for iOS
Use an Alias on iOS (updated for iOS 18)
If you have set up an alias with us, you can also use it on your iPhone or iPad. We do not offer support for Mail clients (as there are simply too many, and we do not develop this software), but since the feature is somewhat hidden, we would like to point it out here.
Note: This guide only applies to mailbox access set up for IMAP retrieval. If you use ActiveSync for your mails instead, you unfortunately cannot configure aliases.
How to Set Up an Alias on iOS 18
- Open the Settings app and navigate to Apps | Mail | [Your IMAP Account] | Account Settings (iOS 18)
- Tap Email (on iOS 17 and earlier: Settings | Mail | Accounts | Your IMAP Account | Account | Email)
- Tap Add Another Email Address.
- Enter your (already existing) alias address and tap the Return key on the keyboard.
- The alias will now appear under your email addresses. Tap Account to go back, then tap Done to save the changes.
- When composing a mail, tap the “From:” field twice to open the selection menu. Swipe up or down to choose your alias.
Your alias is now ready to use — you can use this alias when sending mails from your iOS device.
Applies to: iOS 18 and earlier versions (iOS 17 and below)
