You can sync your address book and calendars with your mobile device using ActiveSync or using CalDAV and CardDAV. Here we describe the process of syncing your information with ActiveSync for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad).
Setting up access
Go to Settings on your iOS device and set up an ‘Exchange’ account. Enter you access data in the fields available:
- E-mail: Your e-mail address (for example, firstname.lastname@example.org)
- Domain: mailbox.org
- User name: your e-mail address (for example, email@example.com)_
- Server name: office.mailbox.org
You can specify the time period for which you would like to sync past e-mails in the settings of the new Exchange account. Select ‘1 month’ or less as the maximum value. If you wish to transfer older e-mails to your mobile device, we recommend using IMAP instead of ActiveSync.
You can select which data you wish to synchronize once you have entered and confirmed all of the necessary information. Now you can get started!
On our website you also have the opportunity to set up ActiveSync on your iPhone or iPadautomatically. Please log into your account. Then please click on your avatar, the circle in the upper right with your initials in it, and then on Connect your device.
Now you can choose either iPhone or iPad. Then please choose Mail + Calendar + Address Book.
- To set up your iPhone, please choose Automatic Configuration (via SMS) and follow the steps shown on your screen.
- To set up your iPad, please choose Expert user, then Automatic configuration, and then Configure now.
You will receive a configuration file with all further necessary steps if you agree to the terms and conditions.
Please use only Safari for the download. If you don't use Safari your iPad won't be able to finish the setup.
If the configuration has been successful you will be asked to enter the password of your mailbox.org-account. After entering the correct password ActiveSync is ready to use.
If you experience any difficulties with this process, please setup ActiveSync manually.
