How do I cancel my mailbox account
We regret that you would like to cancel your mailbox account. Perhaps we can still do something for you or at least improve our service for the future. Is there anything that could be improved in support, or do you have further suggestions and wishes? We would be happy to assist you in resolving any issues.
Cancellation via the Homepage
You can cancel your contract directly via our homepage. To do this, go to the mailbox homepage and click on Cancel. There you must fill out the provided cancellation form and confirm your details. Then follow the further steps to complete the cancellation. You can access the homepage at the following link:

In general, cancelling your account is not necessary, since you have a fixed contract term according to your payment and your chosen plan. However, you can terminate at the end of each billing month. We will soon implement the termination function in mailbox Office.
Once the contract term has expired and you do not actively extend the contract, it will automatically be terminated. The end of the term can be found in your current contract. A monetary refund or reimbursement of the remaining term is not possible. Should you still wish to terminate, you can do so at the end of the respective month. We will then delete all your data.
Change the primary address
If you would like to change your primary address, please do not cancel. Instead, simply create a new alias. You can then set this alias as your primary address and keep the account with all data and settings. If you cancel your account, your primary address @mailbox.org and any aliases will remain blocked for at least 90 days – the blocking period depends on the plan and the age of the account. From that point on, you will no longer be able to log in with these mail addresses – we also protect you from identity theft this way.
