CalDAV and CardDAV Login Credentials

CalDAV & CardDAV Credentials​

Generally, you need the following credentials to sync your calendar or address book with your mailbox.org account using third-party software and tools:

  • Username: Your primary email address at mailbox.org (e.g. max.mustermann@mailbox.org)
  • Password: Your password
  • URL for DAVx5: https://dav.mailbox.org
  • URL for Cardbook: https://dav.mailbox.org/carddav
  • URL with folder ID (for selected address books): https://dav.mailbox.org/carddav/Folder-ID (How to find the folder ID is explained in the last paragraph).

How to Find Your Calendar URL​

While modern apps can automatically detect your server's URL, you can always retrieve the address from your mailbox.org calendar:

  1. Open the calendar section in the mailbox.org webmailer and select the desired calendar from the left column whose CalDAV URL you want to find.
  2. Click the "≡" button (three horizontal lines, right next to the calendar title) (Figure 1) to access the calendar settings. Select "Settings".

Here, the complete path of your mailbox.org calendar is displayed (Figure 2). Use this URL to sync the calendar with external applications. Note: The birthday calendar is a virtual calendar and cannot be synchronized.

How to Find the Folder ID of Your Address Book​

  1. Open your Addressbook section in the mailbox.org webinterface.
  2. In the left column (My Addressbooks), select the specific address book you want to synchronize.
  3. You can now extract the folder ID from the URL displayed in your browser:

Example:

For the address https://office.mailbox.org/appsuite/#!!&app=io.ox/contacts&folder=32&rd=32.37), the folder ID is 32. Thus, the entry for the address book URL would be: https://dav.mailbox.org/carddav/32.
