CalDAV and CardDAV for macOS and iOS

You can synchronize your contacts and calendars with your Apple devices (macOS, iOS) using either ActiveSync or CalDAV and CardDAV. Below, we describe the synchronization using the CalDAV and CardDAV protocols.

How to set up and sync Calendars and Contacts​

  1. Navigate to the appropriate menu:
  • For iOS: "Calendar -> Calendar Accounts -> Add Account".
  • For macOS: "Settings -> System Preferences -> Internet Accounts".
  1. Choose the category "Other".

  1. In the next window select either "Add CalDAV Account" or "Add CardDAV Account".

  1. In the next step, enter your mailbox.org credentials:
  • Server: https://dav.mailbox.org:443
  • Username: Your primary email address at mailbox.org (e.g. max.mustermann@mailbox.org)
  • Password: Your password

  1. Finally, confirm your entries.

Done! You can now access and synchronize your mailbox.org calendar and address book via the respective apps (Calendar & Contacts).

Contact Default Group on iOS & macOS​

Please note: If you want to synchronize your mailbox.org contacts, this is only possible via the default group "Contacts". This group must be visible in the contact list. This is due to Apple’s system restrictions, over which we unfortunately have no control.
