Opening a mailbox account using a pseudonym

To open a mailbox account, we require you to provide a first and last name. However, since we do not verify this information at any point, you may choose any pseudonym. Especially in combination with Tor and the Tor access operated by mailbox, you can maintain complete anonymity this way.

The name in the mailbox web portal is necessary because, for example, you may work on tasks and files together with others or share them with third parties.

Sometimes a real name is necessary

If you intend to reuse the data of your email account (for example, to submit costs to your employer), you should enter your real name from the beginning. A later change of the invoice is unfortunately not possible – our system books deposits fully automatically and therefore also immediately generates a first invoice using the data stored under the following path: Profile picture > Edit personal Data > My contact data.
