PGP key renewal for noreplyatmailbox.org

For security reasons, we periodically renew the PGP keys for noreply@mailbox.org, which we use to sign outgoing informational emails from this address. To ensure that the signature can be correctly verified, it is necessary that you load the new PGP key into your keyring after a renewal.

gpg --refresh-keys

Procedure in Thunderbird

In Thunderbird, the old PGP key should first be deleted and then the new one downloaded. Please follow these steps:

  1. Select Tools and then OpenPGP Key Manager.
  2. Now select the key noreply@mailbox.org, then choose "Edit" in the menu and click on "Delete Key". Confirm the deletion.
  3. Then under "Keyserver", select the function "Search for keys online" and enter "noreply@/mailbox.org".
  4. The key with the fingerprint 0364 1397 8F85 757A A899 FFA4 6F82 3A8C 655E DCC6 will then be displayed.

  6. If the fingerprint matches, select Accepted (unverified) and click OK.
  7. You have now imported the current key, and the signature of mails from noreply@mailbox.org will once again be shown as verified.
