Overview of data reconciliation

Synchronize data with mailbox Office

mailbox Office provides many interfaces that allow you to synchronize calendar data, address book data, emails, and files with your various devices.
This overview is intended to help you navigate the wide range of available options. We have listed here the methods recommended for different systems — but that does not mean it might not work differently with some time and experimentation.

Whenever possible, use these methods for data synchronization:

  • Mail: via IMAP and SMTP with your mail application
  • Calendar and tasks: via CalDAV with your calendar application
  • Address book: via CardDAV with your address book application
  • Files: via the Drive client, WebDAV, or the web interface

Time ranges, intervals, and limits

Depending on the synchronization method, different time ranges and intervals are available:

IMAP / POP3

  • Emails from the past: unlimited
  • Maximum number of emails: unlimited

CalDAV

  • Calendars from the past: 30 years
  • Calendars into the future: 10 years

CardDAV

  • Addresses: no limitations

ActiveSync

Issues with ActiveSync

It may happen that ActiveSync causes problems. Depending on the version on your mobile device, some features may be limited or not available at all. For example, multiple calendars or address books may not synchronize, emails may only be transferred for a limited time period, and tasks may be synchronized without times or recurrences.

Also keep in mind that ActiveSync was primarily designed to quickly deliver the most recent information to mobile devices. It is not suitable for permanently synchronizing mailboxes with many or very old emails.
If you want to have a large amount or all of your data available on your mobile device, please use the methods mentioned above.

  • Calendars from the past: 3 years
  • Calendars into the future: 3 years
  • Addresses: unlimited
  • Size of contact pictures: maximum 36 kB (see Microsoft EAS Specification)
  • Emails from the past: 18 months
  • Maximum number of emails: 500 per IMAP folder
  • Tasks: times and recurrences may not be supported

Drive

The Drive storage of mailbox is available to all customers of the Premium plan and Standard plan with a maximum file size of 1 GB.
Customers in the Light plan only receive Drive storage space as family members.

Not all devices immediately display synchronized changes. In the web interface, changes may only become visible after logging in again.
